Screen wake lock

Checking browser support

The tool will be ready after the page loads.

Active time

00:00:00

Keep this page visible while the lock is active. Switching tabs, minimizing the browser, power-saving rules, low battery, or operating-system policy may release it.

How to keep your screen awake

  1. Press Keep screen awake and allow the browser request if prompted.
  2. Leave this page visible while you need the display to remain on.
  3. Press Stop when you are finished so normal sleep behavior can resume.

Browser and device limitations

Screen wake lock requires browser support and a secure page. It can be released when this tab is hidden, the browser is minimized, the battery is low, or power-saving and administrator policies apply.

This tool does not simulate activity, move the pointer, press keys, bypass a lock screen, or override device security. It reports the browser's current wake-lock state and attempts to resume after you return.

Privacy and battery use

Everything runs locally in this tab. McStumble does not store the wake-lock session or its timer. Keeping a display on uses additional power, so stop the lock when it is no longer needed.

Frequently asked questions

How does Keep Screen Awake work?

The tool asks the browser for a screen wake lock after you press the start button. While the lock remains active and this page is visible, the browser asks the device not to turn off the display automatically.

Can this prevent my computer from locking or sleeping?

It is designed to keep the display awake, not override every computer lock, lid-close action, system sleep rule, administrator policy, or battery-saving setting. The operating system can still take control.

Why did the wake lock pause or stop?

Browsers commonly release wake locks when a page becomes hidden. Low battery, power-saving mode, browser policy, permissions, or operating-system rules can also release or reject the lock.

Does the page need to stay visible?

Yes. Keep this page in the foreground. The tool attempts to request the lock again when you return, but reacquisition is subject to browser and device rules.

Does McStumble track how long I keep the screen awake?

No. The wake-lock state and active-time counter remain in this browser tab and are not stored or sent to a server.
